Fraunhofer and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) are convinced that blockchains can play a central role in the digitization of industry, commerce and logistics. In order to achieve a breakthrough here, social players from industry, politics and research must work together. An important step along this path is to demonstrate the potential of the technology in larger application scenarios for all to see. In addition, there are still numerous uncertainties regarding the mode of operation, standardization, data protection and data security, the legal framework and finally the effects on existing business models and professions.
Against the background of the German government's blockchain strategy, which will has been published recently, Fraunhofer wants to work together with industry and politics to develop solutions, initiate and support lighthouse projects and, in addition, develop recommendations for action for an infrastructural, legal and education policy framework.
We want to make the leap from theory to practice, because now solutions are needed instead of problem discussions. On November 5, 2019, we will bring together pioneers and digitizers, SMEs and R&D departments, politicians and researchers in Berlin.

The human blockchain – distributed ledger technology easy to understand How does a blockchain work? What does a transaction look like and why can it not be manipulated? To understand blockchain you have to experience it. In this tutorial you will therefore become part of a blockchain network. You assume the different roles of a blockchain node in which transactions are distributed, verified and stored. But be careful! Black sheep are always trying to spread forgeries and attack the system. An entertaining game with a learning effect. You will also learn how consensus is created in a distributed network and what actually happens inside a blockchain. |
